Research Interest for Patients
My research interests are primarily focused on investigating mechanisms of lung and lung blood vessel growth and injury in prematurely born infants. My research projects in this area explore genetic risk factors for impaired lung blood vessel growth and development of chronic lung disease in these infants. I am also investigating predictors of chronic lung disease and more sensitive measures to detect and measure disease severity. My other research projects employ molecular microbiome analysis to investigate the contribution of different bacteria to ventilator associated pneumonia.
