Clinical Interest for Patients
I very much enjoy treating pediatric sports medicine injuries and concussions in sports. I also have a significant interest in wilderness medicine and high altitude illness in young athletes.
I strive to provide the best and most up to date care for my young athletes. I love their passion and motivation for their individual sports. I also find it easy to relate to my patients being a former wrestler, football player, and motocross racer.
I enjoy skiing and mountaineering with my wife and friends. I love mountain biking and was fortunate to be able to finish the Leadville 100 in 2011. I was able to obtain one of my lifelong goals of climbing Denali in the summer of 2012. I look forward to heading to the Himalayas sometime in the next 5 years to attempt Cho Oyu.

My research focuses on knee pain in the youth athlete, the use of MRI Spectroscopy in youth concussions, and follow-up education in emergency departments after diagnosis of concussions in children/adolescents. I recently started a research project focusing on neck musculature strength and how it relates to multiple concussions in the young athlete.
