Children's Hospital Colorado’s Commitment to Kids
For more than 100 years, Children's Hospital Colorado has had a presence in our community as an advocate for children. Our mission extends far beyond the walls of the hospital as we work to improve the health and well-being of all kids – regardless of if they ever walk through our doors.
Making our community a better place for kids and families
Our goal is to empower families with the tools you need to stay safe and healthy. The following videos highlight just a few of the ways we’re working to impact our community – not just through financial support, but through the thousands of hours our staff spends contributing their time and talents.
Dental care in schools
By working with Aurora Public Schools, we provide underserved children with dental care, from checkups to toothbrushes.
Preventing shaken baby syndrome
Together with our partners, Kohl’s and the Kempe Center, we have undertaken a campaign to end Shaken Baby Syndrome. Learn why we encourage everyone to give your word to never shake a baby and have a plan in place for when babies cry.
From lobbying on “the hill” for changes to Colorado law, to checking your car seat or booster at locations around the state, we work to keep our littlest passengers safe in the car.
Elementary school immunizations
With the help of students from the University of Colorado, we’re able to provide influenza (flu) shots for students and employees at two local elementary schools.
Sustainability and being “green”
By implementing recycling programs, providing alternative transportation options for employees, and finding ways to reduce pollutants, we’re taking steps to become an eco-friendly facility.
Electronic health records
Learn how saying goodbye to paper records allows doctors to diagnose patients, recommend treatments and facilitate seamless care.
Staying fit with professional athletes
"Team Fit," a program presented by Children's Hospital Colorado and Kroenke Sports, teaches kids about nutrition and fitness. See how Children’s and local athletes are promoting healthier lifestyles.
