Meet the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Team

See a list of our gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition specialists.

Multidisciplinary Staff

In addition to board-certified physicians, other disciplines work closely in the care of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition patients. A highly trained, full-time physician assistant works in all inpatient and outpatient settings of the Section. This provides the platform for a seamless continuum of care for patients and families.

Social workers, pediatric radiologists, psychologists, and child life specialists also participate in the multidisciplinary team. Additional staff in the Section includes a full-time Nutritional Support Nurse Specialist, a GI/Hepatology dietitian, a GI/Hepatology Social Worker, Liver Transplant Coordinators as well as dedicated administrative staff.

Nursing Staff

We attract and retain experienced pediatric nurses who are trained in the specialties of gastroenterology, intensive and progressive care, interventional studies and transplantation. As a Magnet Status hospital, Children's Hospital Colorado is one of the best facilities in the country for nurses to work. Our Magnet designation is a statement about the high-level of commitment to our patients.

Nurse liaisons in the Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Section include Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Nurse Specialist, two GI disease Nurse Coordinators, a Liver Center Nurse Coordinator and three GI procedure nurses.

Fellows

In affiliation with the University of Colorado, fellows at Children's Hospital Colorado complete a three-year fellowship in the program. They work closely under the pediatric gastroenterologists and hepatologists and participate in the care of children in the outpatient setting.
