Clinical Interest for Patients
My primary clinical interests include caring for children that have or are at risk of developing heart muscle diseases (cardiomyopathy) and those that have had a heart transplant. I also care for children who have varied forms of congenital heart disease and connective tissue disorders (Loeys-Dietz syndrome, Turner's syndrome).
Volunteer Activities
I am a member of the Leadership Council for the Cardiovascular Disease in the Young subcommittee of the American Heart Association. As a member of this organization I participate in efforts to improve awareness of heart disease, advocate for patient rights and have the opportunity to contribute to national guideline development for children with heart disease.

Research Interest for Patients
My research interest is to identify targeted therapy specific to children suffering from poor heart function. Currently, treatment of children with heart failure is based on what is done for adult patients. Important differences exist between children and adults with heart failure and our goal is to identify treatment options that are appropriate specifically for children.
