GoodLIFE (Lifestyles Influencing Fitness and Eating)

The GoodLIFE Clinics provide multidisciplinary treatment options for obese or overweight infants, toddlers, school-age children and adolescents. An individualized family-centered approach is initiated with every patient and family. The GoodLIFE Clinic team consists of a pediatrician, nurse, dietitian, therapeutic recreation specialist, exercise physiologist and psychologist. The clinic conducts a comprehensive medical assessment and provides treatment for:

  • Excessive weight gain
  • Overweight children and teens (BMI between 85-95%)
  • Obese children and teens (BMI above 95%)
  • Overweight children and teens with related medical conditions such as hyperlipidemia, hypertension, fatty liver disease, obstructive sleep problems and orthopedic problems

The treatment focuses on helping families to negotiate change and build skills in the areas of diet, activity and behavior from interactive goal-setting to structured meal planning. Referrals may be made to the sleep clinic, physical therapy and other subspecialties as indicated.

GoodLIFE1 Clinic

The GoodLIFE1 Clinic provides multidisciplinary treatment for overweight and obese children ages 0-11 and is also for children with special needs. GoodLIFE1 Clinic is held on Tuesday afternoons.

GoodLIFE2 Clinic

The GoodLIFE2 Clinic provides multidisciplinary treatment for overweight or obese children ages 12+ and also follows patients who have been diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. GoodLIFE2 is held on Thursday afternoons.
