What to Expect From Your Visit to the Sie Center for Down Syndrome

Our world-class pediatric facility was built specifically for children with Down Syndrome. Click the arrows below to view the clinic. 

Prior to your first appointment, we will contact you to review your child’s and family’s needs. When you come to the Sie Center for Down Syndrome at Children’s Colorado, our multidisciplinary team will meet with your family and child. A developmental pediatrician or pediatric nurse practitioner along with therapists which may include physical therapist, speech therapist, feeding therapist, occupational therapist and social worker that will work together to assess your child. A registered dietitian is also available for consultation at certain appointments. 

At the conclusion of the visit, your family will receive appropriate and up-to-date information, as well as resources and recommendations to optimize your child’s development and medical care. We will also share this information with your child’s primary care doctor.

Lastly, we’ll arrange periodic follow-up appointments based on your child’s needs and your parental concerns. To help make your visit to Children’s as convenient as possible, we will try to coordinate combination appointments with other sub-specialists during the same visit or over a period of a few days.
