From teenagers to grandparents, and from homemakers to professional athletes, Children's Hospital Colorado volunteers span a variety of ages and backgrounds. Our diverse group of volunteers has one thing in common, however: the desire to help sick children and their families.
Sharing your gifts of time and talent
At Children's Colorado, we’re fortunate to have thousands of dedicated volunteers who work regularly -- from several hours a year to several hours a week -- to help make the hospital experience a little less stressful for kids. And to ensure your volunteer experience is a great one, we help find the perfect role for each volunteer based on hospital need and your individual strengths and passions. Opportunities can range from planning and supervising play activities for patients and their siblings, to administrative support for our hospital staff.
Volunteering at our Welcome Program
To help make the hospital stay a little easier, we created a special Welcome Program for patients and families. Specially trained volunteers serve as Welcome Program coordinators who greet newly admitted patient families upon their arrival and introduce them to the hospital's many amenities. The goal is to provide a warm and welcoming environment and to answer any non-medical questions about a child’s stay.
