Carter Brotherton is battling a disease called

For months now, doctors and nurses have been poking him and giving him some nasty medicine, but somehow he manages to smile and welcome them into his life.
Carter is almost a year and a half. He is battling a disease (Mucopolysaccharidoses or MPS) that is caused by the body's inability to produce specific enzymes. It can cause progressive damage throughout the body. There is no cure.

Carter's dad, Trent, has created a web page, www.meetcarter.org that provides regular updates about Carter. He said the web page is a good way to stay connected with friends and family, and that blogging can be very cathartic.
