Since profiling little Lucy Johnson’s transport to the new hospital’s NICU, Channel 9 reporter Chris Vanderveen has been keeping close tabs on the family. Born in July, six weeks premature, Lucy suffers from a life-threatening condition called Pulmonary Vein Stenosis. According to her physician Robin Deterding , who was interviewed by Channel 9, her best chance of survival is a lung transplant. Lucy was transported yesterday to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, where she will wait for a lung transplant. Channel 9 covered Lucy’s departure, and the St. Louis NBC affiliate covered her arrival and will follow her through this process.
