The Quest to Find Lucy Lungs

During the patient move in September, 9News followed and fell in love with NICU patient Lucy Johnson and her parents, Ben and Marlena. Lucy was born with a rare lung condition, and according to Dr. Robin Deterding, her best chance for survival was a lung transplant. Lucy has spent the last several months in St. Louis Children’s Hospital where she recently received a new pair of lungs. 9News profiled her journey on Sun., May 18 during the 10 p.m. newscast.
