May 19, 2008
The article covers the recent increase in measles this year, which pediatricians fear may lead to an outbreak in Colorado partly due to parents neglecting to vaccinate their children. Robert Brayden, pediatrician in the child health clinic at Children's Hospital Colorado and head of the Colorado Children's Immunization Coalition commented.
"I'm worried about our measles immunization rate," said Dr. Brayden, "When our rate falls, we can be virtually guaranteed that we will have measles re-enter our population. It is worldwide, extremely contagious, and it is just a plane ride away."
