Preparing Kids—and Yourself—for Their Hospital Visit: 11 Tips

U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News & World Report recently published an article full of tips for parents aimed to help them make their child's hospital visit as painless as possible, while easing their own stress.

Randall Clark, M.D., who specializes in cardiac anesthesia at Children's and serves as chair of the American Society of Anesthesiologists' committee on pediatric anesthesia, was quoted throughout the article, providing advice for parents or guardians bringing children to the hospital.

"Parents are the No. 1 comforting agent for the kids," says Clark. He also advises parents not to minimize the possibility that their child may experience pain during their hospital visit if their child is asking.
