Physicians at Children's Help Kids Deal with Arthritic Pain

Boulder Community Business Report

Arthritis is one of the nations most common causes of disability currently affecting more than 46 million adults and 300,000 children in the United States. While there is a shortage of pediatric rheumatology clinics in the country, three physicians at Children's Hospital Colorado of Denver treat juvenile arthritis: Dr. Lenny Dragone, Dr. Roger Hollister, and Dr. Jenny Soep. These doctors are the only physicians within a 500-mile radius to treat arthritis at the pediatric level. At Children's the staff is leading clinics to train incoming doctors to identify the juvenile arthritis earlier in children in order to treat and control the disease more promptly in a child's life.
