A Day for Brothers & Sisters
The Aurora Sentinel & CBS4
Children's Hospital Colorado’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders hosted a siblings day camp for nearly 20 kids, ages 6-10. These kids each have a sibling who is being treated for cancer or a blood disorder, and most of them spend a great deal of time at the hospital. However, this day was all about them. The hospital’s art therapists, recreational therapists and child life specialists planned a number of fun events for the group.
“We created this day as a way to really recognize the siblings and what they’ve been struggling with,” said Allison Donohue, child life specialist at Children's Hospital Colorado.
