Collaboration at Anschutz Medical Campus Boosts Research Capacity
The Denver Post
Children's Hospital Colorado is now part of Anschutz Medical Campus, which was recently touted by the Denver Post because its campus atmosphere fosters unique collaboration in medical research. Ronald Sokol, MD, director of the Clinical Translational Research Center, gave Barbara Alving, MD, a tour of Children's Hospital Colorado. Alving is the director of the National Institutes of Health, the organization that bestowed the largest grant in the University of Colorado Denver's history.
The Clinical Translational Research Center links health care advocates, organizations, and researchers around the state with the end goal of moving research discoveries and innovations to patient bedsides. Current collaborative research efforts on the Anschutz Campus include obesity and exercise studies and fetal predisposition to hypertension and diabetes.
The Campus is also being recognized for its economic affects in creating jobs and new construction projects.
