Children's Hospital Colorado Expands Colorado Springs Presence with New Outpatient Specialty Care Facility

Services at new location include cardiology, oncology, digestive health and orthopedics, among others

Children's Hospital Colorado Outpatient Specialty Care at Briargate, Colorado Springs facility at 4125 Briargate Parkway will open its doors to patients on June 14.

The 50,000-square-foot facility will offer a wide range of pediatric specialty care services including audiology and speech language therapy, cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, orthopedics, pulmonology, as well as genetics, metabolic, radiology and lab services.

The Fontenero Street Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders has moved to the new location, becoming part of the Children's Hospital Colorado Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, one of the largest pediatric programs in the country.

"We're dedicated to the Colorado Springs community, and our new Outpatient Specialty Care reflects that commitment," said Jim Shmerling, president and CEO of Children's Hospital Colorado (Children's Colorado). "Children's Colorado has a philosophy of providing services close to where children live and looks forward to continuing to offer the very best pediatric services to the Colorado Springs community. In addition, many of our pediatric caregivers will live in Colorado Springs, sharing with our patients the many benefits this unique community offers." 

The new facility, which cost approximately $11 million, anticipates hosting 25,000 patient visits in the first full year of operation.

As the only licensed, nationally-ranked children's hospital in the region, Children's Colorado has a long commitment of providing the highest quality care for patients and families in Colorado Springs. Children's Colorado has partnered with community physicians and patient families to identify and develop pediatric services and specialties that best serve the growing south Colorado communities.   

See a full list of services and providers at the new Outpatient Specialty Care at Briargate, Colorado Springs. Additionally, the facility will feature an on-site pharmacy and pharmacist, an outpatient lab, lab processing and on-site bloodwork for both clinic patients and walk-in clients.

Children's Colorado also is pleased to partner with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Colorado and Starlight Children's Foundation of Southern Colorado to provide a family amenities suite, which includes a family room and play room.
