InFLUenza Strikes Early

Life Science

Flu season hit the ground running at Children's Hospital Colorado and across the country earlier than usual. The peak season for  patients with flu symptoms at Children's Colorado is typically January or February, this season hit in October.

"Babies are more susceptible to the influenza virus because they cannot be vaccinated until they’re six months old. What we recommend for new parents and families is really making sure everybody who’s in contact with that child gets vaccinated,” said Dr. Chris Nyquist, medical director of infection prevention and control.
