Children's Hospital Colorado Opens New Wheat Ridge Location

Care by Children's Hospital Colorado at Lutheran offers
urgent care and pediatric specialists in west metro
Denver.

AURORA (Nov. 12, 2007) – Children's Hospital Colorado announced today the opening of its latest Network of Care location, Care by Children's Hospital Colorado at Lutheran.

The 7,500 square-foot medical suite, located on the Exempla Lutheran Medical Center campus in Wheat Ridge, houses 15 exam rooms, and includes audiology services, EEG diagnostics, phlebotomy/blood draw services and plain film radiology. Urgent Care services are offered with extended hours of operation: Monday-Friday, 2 p.m. – 2 a.m.; Saturday, Sunday and holidays 8 a.m. – 2 a.m. A variety of specialists will be onsite to provide day-time clinic services during normal business hours, including audiology, cardiology, ear, nose and throat, orthopedics, pediatric rehabilitation and pediatric surgery. Additional specialties are scheduled to begin after the first of the year.

“This partnership will help make care more affordable for our patients by offering “urgent care” co-pays instead of “emergency room” co-pays,” said Bob Malte, president and CEO of Exempla Lutheran Medical Center. “There is a need to expand pediatric services in Jefferson County, and we’re committed to continuing to provide high-quality care to our community.”

Care by Children's Hospital Colorado at Lutheran is staffed by Children’s Hospital professionals – administrative support staff, audiologists, clinical support staff, EEG technicians, physicians, radiology technicians and RNs.

Our Network of Care

The new Children's Hospital, located near I-225 and East Colfax Avenue, is only part of a growing network that ensures our world-class pediatric care is closer to home than ever before. With 12 convenient locations, we have you covered, no matter where you are.

Our new location on the Lutheran campus brings Children's Hospital Colorado-owned, managed and staffed programs to pediatric patients and families in the western sector of our expanding service area.

"We're excited to provide the same high-level care we're known for at other Children's Hospital sites to the kids who live on the west side of town," said Ann Van Horne, D.O., medical director of the new facility.

Children's Hospital Colorado Network of Care consists of numerous facilities and programs that provide healthcare services within metro Denver, across Colorado and throughout the region. We work with communities, healthcare organizations, providers and payors to tailor existing programs - or develop new ones - to meet the needs of children in their community.

"Not only are we excited about expanding our programs to make them more convenient for families, but our expansion also includes new types of services and better hours of service for families to access us," said Jena Hausmann, vice president of planning and Network of Care operations at Children's.

Our Network of Care provides off-campus access to pediatric specialty clinics; physical, occupational and speech therapy; after-hours urgent care; and Children's Hospital Colorado services within adult community hospitals.

The network centers around our incredible new main hospital. Designed from the ground up to promote healing and ease families' stress during their child's hospitalization, The new Children's Hospital supports our Network of Care with state-of-the art equipment, technology and accommodations.

"Families will also find that these programs are providing some of the highest customer satisfaction in the country," Hausmann said. "We are proud that our care team members are more than pediatric experts - they are compassionate and truly dedicated to caring for your child."
