Children's Links Patients with Electronic Health Records

Children's Hospital Colorado is one of three regional health care organizations taking a leap forward in health care with an interconnected electronic patient record exchange system. Children's collaboration with Kaiser Permanente and Exempla Healthcare for the Epic CareEverywhere allows patients to seek treatment at any one of these organization's hospitals or clinics with the access to all their health records instantly at the touch of a button.
David Kaplan, MD, medical chief information officer said, "We no longer have to listen to voicemail messages or try to decipher unclear faxes." He goes on to state, "Doctors now have instant access to patient's up-to-date health records, which saves time and reduces errors."
