Children's Doctor Says it's Safer to Vaccinate Than to Not

Stapleton Front Porch

Dr. Chris Nyquist, a pediatrician and specialist in infectious diseases at Children's Hospital Colorado urges parents who are still hesitant to have their children vaccinated against H1N1 to rethink their decision. She explains, “It’s a strain of influenza that the world’s population hasn’t seen before, so the large majority of people have no immunity to it.”

However, this does not mean that the H1N1 vaccine is experimental, Nyquist added. “It was tested exactly the same way as all flu vaccines,” she said, "As soon as the vaccine comes out, you should get it because we should have another wave in the spring.”
