Children's Hospital Colorado Recognized for Numerous Communications Awards
Hospital received five awards from Colorado Healthcare Communicators for outstanding communication programs, media relations and annual report
Children's Hospital Colorado received three Gold Leaf awards and two Silver Leaf awards in the categories of internal and external communication programs, proactive media relations, and annual report during the Colorado Healthcare Communicators (CHC) 2010 Gold Leaf Awards Dinner, held at The Wellshire Inn in Denver on Oct. 21.
“It’s an honor for Children's Hospital Colorado’s work to be recognized among our peers in healthcare marketing and public relations,” said Amy Casseri, chief strategy officer and vice president of strategy and external affairs. “I’m very proud of the passion, teamwork and ingenuity that are reflected in these award-winning entries.”
Children’s won the top award, the Grand Gold Leaf, in 2008 for the media relations surrounding the hospital’s move to the Anschutz Medical Campus, and again in 2009 for the robust centennial campaign that highlighted, both internally and externally, the hospital’s 100-year history of caring for children.
Once again, the Gold Leaf judges were impressed with the caliber of projects submitted. Comments about the hospital’s booster seat campaign, which resulted in the passing of Senate Bill 110, a law that requires all children eight and under to ride in a booster seat in the backseat of a moving vehicle, included “Excellent results…Materials, messaging, grassroots efforts indicate that every stone was turned in the education and awareness efforts. Very clever and beautifully executed.”
This year, the hospital won the following awards:
