Former Children's Patient On the Ice After Cancer Treatment

Daily Camera

Almost two years ago, Christian Moreno was diagnosed with liver cancer when he was just 5-years-old. After receiving the traumatic news, Christian and his family immediately went to Children's Hospital Colorado, where Christian underwent chemotherapy, followed by a liver transplant. Shortly after surgery, Christian suffered complications and required a second liver transplant.

Just two weeks after completing the last stages of his cancer treatment, which included eight rounds of chemo therapy, Christian was back on the ice playing hockey - a sport he loved since he was a toddler.

Christian recently played his first hockey game since being diagnosed with cancer. The game marked his triumphant return to the sport he loves with such intense passion that he spent his days in his hospital room playing Xbox hockey games and watching his favorite teams compete on television.

Read the full story about Christian's return to the hockey rink.
