Since 1983, Children's Hospital Colorado Burn Camp has been helping burn patients across the country take steps toward recovery and confidence. The camp is designed to connect young burn patients with a support network and foster inner healing through shared adventures and shared struggles.
This year, 84 campers and more than 20 counselors and staff gathered at the Cheley Camp in Estes Park, Colo. Some were treated for their injuries at Children's Hospital Colorado; others came from hospital burn units across the country. Many of the campers were returning for their third, fourth or fifth year. And some former campers returned as counselors this year!
Campers enjoyed activities such as hiking through forests, riding horses, fishing, biking and talent shows.
