Children's Colorado Surgeon, Dr. Fritz Karrer, Serves in Afghanistan

Children's Hospital Colorado surgeon, Frederick (Fritz) Karrer, MD, was recently called to serve the U.S. military in Afghanistan.  Dr. Karrer is a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves and has received multiple military honors. During his fourth deployment, Dr. Karrer has been keeping us updated through our Pediatric Global Health blog. Although he's focused on providing medical care for soldiers, Dr. Karrer has been able to help several pediatric patients during his time in Afghanistan.

Read about what life is like for Dr. Karrer and those on his base, what kinds of cases he's been seeing, and some of the interesting "critters" in the area, on our Pediatric Global Health blog.
