Children’s Hospital Colorado Awarded for Best Health Technology

Children’s Colorado recognized as one of the nation’s Most Wired

Children’s Hospital Colorado (Children’s Colorado) has once again been recognized as one of the nation’s Most Wired (Most Improved) according to the results of the 2011 Most Wired Survey released in the July issue of Hospitals & Health Networks magazine. Children’s Colorado also received the award in 2007.

Hospitals & Health Networks’ Most Wired Survey, conducted between Jan. 15 and March 15, asked hospitals and health systems nationwide to answer questions regarding their information technology (IT) initiatives.

Vice President and Chief Information Officer Mary Anne Leach is thrilled that Children’s Colorado once again joins the ranking of this elite group of hospitals and health systems.

“Studies have shown that Most Wired hospitals are demonstrating better clinical outcomes, so the value of health information technology is being realized in significant ways,” Leach explains. “This award is really a testament to our great IT leaders and staff, who, in collaboration with our clinical colleagues and business partners, continue to make great strides toward smarter, safer, more cost-effective healthcare.”

Leach has reason to be proud of her team—it’s been a banner year for IT. In April, Leach was recognized as the Denver Business Journal’s Chief Information Officer of the Year for Nonprofits. Then the Association of Volunteers honored the IT Division with its Employee of the Year award.

“These awards recognize our very talented and dedicated team in the IT Division, as well as the wonderful partnership with our physicians, leaders, staff and our ‘10,000 users’ across the enterprise,” Leach says.
