Letter from the Medical Board President

Hello Colleagues,

I am honored to now have the privilege of serving as President of the Medical Staff, and I thank Jay Markson, MD, for his leadership and personal guidance these past two years. As I reflected on my comments for our annual dinner this January, several things were apparent. We have an amazing organization helmed by visionary leaders who never let our employees and medical staff forget our mission - that we are here to serve children and their families. The service we provide in the hospital and in our Network of Care must always be the very best possible. And our community healthcare providers are not only recipients of that service, but also are a vital part of the Children's healthcare team.

As Director of the Child Protection Team, I am often called to consult in some extraordinarily difficult and complex, tragic situations. I rely on my team members and so many hospital colleagues as we provide guidance to families and community agencies. At the core of what I do in this role, is the belief that a supportive team working together is ultimately better than working alone - no matter what the goal.

I can tell you that in committing time to various committees and initiatives in the past few years, I have found that there are indeed many teams across this organization working hard to fulfill our mission for children. And they do so with a diligent focus on quality, safety and service excellence.

This is another exciting time for Children's as we continue our growth in clinical service lines, research, education and community outreach and advocacy.  I am so very proud of our medical staff's work and am excited to lead us during our next growth phase.

I welcome your input and guidance during my time in this role. Please tell us what we are doing well and what we can do better.

I consider you all a part of Children's Hospital Colorado team!

Andrew Sirotnak, MD
