Biography & Interests

Care Philosophy

Whether they need surgical or non-surgical care, I strive to help children with chronic disabilities be the best they can be. I also believe that adaptive sports can make a big difference in the lives of children with disabilities.

Clinical Interests

I've dedicated my career to helping maximize the function of children with chronic disabilities. I specialize in treating children with bone or muscular deformities that result from brain or spinal injuries or conditions. I spend the majority of my time treating children with cerebral palsy. Our goal is to maximize function and comfort for all children with cerebral palsy and other neuromuscular conditions. I also treat osteogenesis imperfecta, gait abnormalities, and other common pediatric orthopedic conditions.

Research Interests

My research focuses on outcomes for procedures to improve gait abnormalities of children with cerebral palsy (CP), development and treatment of hip dysplasia in children with CP, the benefits of adaptive sports on children with chronic disabilities, and treatment that can improve the orthopedic function of children with CP.

Volunteer Activities

I've been very involved with the Children's Hospital Colorado ARCH (Adaptive Recreation for Childhood Health) program for more than 30 years. I've seen the difference it's made in the lives of hundreds of children over the years.
