This presentation will discuss nutrition recommendations for youth with chronic diseases. Recommendations must first address nutritional needs for normal growth and development, with consideration of the pathologic processes and treatment regimens that may impact on nutrition status. Few data exist on adherence to nutrition recommendations in pediatric chronic diseases, and what data are available shows generally suboptimal adherence.
