DAISY Honorees: Celebrating Incredible Nurses at Children's Hospital Colorado

One way Children's Hospital Colorado recognizes its nurses is through the Disease Attacking the Immune System (DAISY) awards program, designed to celebrate the incredible work nurses do every day.

The nation-wide DAISY awards program was established in 2001 by a family in California, whose son, Patrick, died of complications from Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura. The stellar nursing care Patrick received inspired the Barnes family to create a unique way of thanking these very special caregivers.
