Children's Hospital Colorado 8th Floor
The 8th floor patient rooms are for general medical and shorter stays. Look for the "Blue Moose" and you will know you are in the right place. The floor is shaped like an "L" and has two wings of private patient rooms.
Upon exiting the elevator, you will see the family lounge, complete with computer and television and the playroom next door. Cheerful colors, beautiful views and lots of natural sunlight provide a welcoming environment.
Helping Kids Heal
Each floor of our inpatient tower is specially designed to help kids heal more quickly. Sound absorbing rubber floors and ceiling tiles minimize noise, as does our paging system that uses text messages or phones instead of overhead announcements to contact staff. This helps patients get the rest they need to heal.
Our natural, full-spectrum lighting is bright enough for providers to care for patients, yet dim enough to encourage sleep.
Research shows natural light benefits the healing process and a patient's outlook, so huge windows, "light wells" and a six-story atrium let natural light shine throughout the inpatient areas.
