Children's Hospital Colorado Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) located on the 4th floor of the main hospital. Our state-of-the-art facility provides 60 critical care beds for infants up to three months of age. We recognize that these are some of our most fragile patients and special care is taken to help them heal.
Helping Kids Heal
Our NICU is designed to provide a home-like setting and allow you to be by your baby’s side at all times. Scientific research shows that low-light level, quiet and privacy supports a baby's overall brain development, physiological stability and aids in the development of a regulated sleep and wake cycle.
Our healing environment uses specialized flooring and ceiling tiles to reduce noise. Soothing, indirect lighting promotes healthy brain development. Discover more about our healing hospital.
