Children's Hospital Colorado Typical Patient Room
Our private rooms were uniquely designed to meet the needs of the patient, the family and the caregiver. The "caregiver zone" is closest to the room entrance for easy access. This area includes a work counter, a sink, a rolling supply cart and built-in storage for clean linens and supplies. Medical equipment is built into the wall behind the patient to allow for sophisticated bedside technology.
The "family zone" along the exterior wall provides you with privacy while remaining close to your child. Different lighting modes are available, as well as a darkening shade. The "patient zone" is at the center of each room. At the foot of each bed is a 32" plasma television, with on-demand movies and video games, a desk for computer use, a tack board for pictures and a colorful wardrobe.
Helping Kids Heal
One of the best examples of our healing environment is the private patient rooms. Private rooms improve infection control and reduce stress on kids and families by providing ample space, and peace and quiet for a more comfortable night's sleep. Huge windows brighten each room with natural light and a view of the outside. Soft wall sconce lighting with personal, bedside control let's you make the room comfortable for your child.
A specially-chosen spirited color palette graces inpatient rooms to bring a healing energy to this important space, and a custom-designed germ-fighting fabric covers the sofa beds.
