Children's Hospital Colorado Heart Institute
The Heart Institute is located on the third floor of Children's Hospital Colorado. The institute brings all services together in one convenient location, including Cardiology Outpatient Services, the Cardiac Catheterization lab, dedicated cardiovascular operating rooms, the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) and the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU). Our multidisciplinary team serves neonates, infants, children, adolescents and young adults with all forms of congenital and acquired heart disease, while providing family-centered care in support of parents and families.
Helping Kids Heal
The integrated design of our Heart Institute creates a unique healing environment to help our patients heal as quickly as possible. We do this with measures taken to increase privacy, reduce stress and provide a hopeful, cheerful environment while you are here. For example, private consultation rooms throughout the area allow for private communication between caregivers and families.
The centralized caregiver desk provides visibility of all patient beds. Public and private waiting areas and outdoor courtyards help families relieve stress. Art, such as the purple cow just off the elevator or the playful glass patient room doors, provide fun diversions. Additionally, the procedure rooms are abundant with natural light, and the rubber flooring reduces noise and relieves caregiver fatigue.
