In 2005, Children’s Hospital Colorado identified Shaken Baby Syndrome prevention as an advocacy priority. In April of 2006, the Kohl’s Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Campaign was launched in conjunction with Child Abuse Prevention Month, thanks to support from Kohl’s Cares.
The overall campaign goal is to educate caregivers about the dangers of shaking a baby and to take steps to prevent Shaken Baby Syndrome. The campaign is run out of the Children’s Health Advocacy Institute at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
