While our passion is taking care of kids' health needs, we'd like nothing more than for families to never have to use our services. That is why Children's Hospital Colorado dedicates so many resources and partners with so many organizations to help prevent injuries in children. There are things you and your family can do to stay safe, ways to get involved in the community to promote safe-kid initiatives, and many educational resources for families and professionals.

Organizations and programs focused on safety
- Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect
Children's Hospital Colorado offers the only hospital-based multidisciplinary child abuse program in Colorado, and one of the oldest in the nation. With our partner, The Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect, we help identify, treat and console child abuse victims and their families. - Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute
Children's Hospital Colorado and Rocky Mountain Kiwanis District have joined in partnership to create the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute (KPTI), for injury research, prevention and outreach education. Learn more about KPTI and its programs.
- Junglemobile
The Junglemobile program provides injury prevention education to children ages 3-10 throughout the rural areas of Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. An ambulance (no longer used by the hospital) has been converted into an interactive teaching vehicle and travels to rural communities. - Safe Kids Colorado
Safe Kids Colorado, led by Children’s Colorado, is a partnership of statewide and regional organizations dedicated to preventing unintentional injuries to Colorado children ages 14 and under. Safe Kids Colorado is a member of Safe Kids Worldwide, a global network of more than 600 coalitions and chapters nationwide, including 19 member countries.
- Safe Kids Denver Metro
