What to Know Before Your Visit to Children’s Hospital Colorado
Thank you for making an appointment with Children’s Colorado. Our goal is to provide compassionate and expert care to every child and family who walks in our doors. Please review this important information to get ready for your scheduled appointment.
Need to reschedule? Please contact us at 720-777-1234 and ask for the department treating your child. You can also update or cancel your appointment in MyChart.

Paying for care
At Children’s Colorado, we are committed to transparency and quality. It’s important to us that you have accurate information about the cost of care before your visit.
We offer services at more than 15 locations across the state, including four hospitals and four urgent care facilities.
To help your visit go smoothly, make sure you review our hospital policies, including our visitation guidelines.
We provide several services and resources to help make your experience with us as easy as possible.
Understanding your bill
At Children's Hospital Colorado, we understand that healthcare billing can be confusing. Our team members are here to help. We strive to make the billing and payment process as seamless as possible. For any questions regarding your hospital bill, please call or email our Patient Financial Services department at 720-777-6422 or PFS@childrenscolorado.org.
You will receive two bills after your visit
- A bill from Children’s Colorado
This bill lists the itemized charges for the healthcare services received from Children’s Colorado. This bill includes hospital charges and facility fees. - A bill from CU Medicine or the doctor’s office
This bill covers services offered by doctors you see at the hospital. This is because they are not employed by Children’s Colorado.
About facility fees
Facility fees cover the cost of your care team and pay for the people (other than doctors) involved in your care, including the nurses, technicians, front desk staff, environmental services, medical records, interpreters and many others that help provide care.
The doctor's bill covers the care and services provided by the doctors that treat you while you are at the hospital. CU Medicine employs most of the doctors that provide care at Children’s Colorado.
Patients' Right to Know Act
Patients and families have the right to receive the information they need to make informed healthcare decisions. The Patients’ Right to Know Act (Colorado House Bill 23-1218) requires that all medical facilities provide patients with a Health Facility Service Availability Form.
