Children's Hospital Colorado has been ranked for more than a decade as one of the best children's hospitals nationally in U.S. News & World Report, and as the consistent choice eight years in a row by area physicians for the care of their loved ones. Founded in 1908, Children's Colorado is a private, not-for-profit pediatric healthcare network dedicated 100 percent to caring for kids. With more than 3,000 pediatric specialists and more than 5,000 full-time employees, Children's Colorado is home to a number of nationally and internationally recognized medical programs.
Kids get the best care in the nation at Children’s Colorado, because our care team is the best at what they do. U.S. News & World Report began ranking U.S. hospitals in 1993 based on clinical data and surveys of thousands of specialists around the country. Since then, we’ve been recognized among the best in the nation — the only ranked children’s hospital in Colorado — with 10 of our specialties ranked among the best in their field.
In 2016, four of our specialty areas were among the country's top 10, including Diabetes & Endocrinology (No. 4), Gastroenterology & GI Surgery (No. 10), Orthopedics (No. 7) and Cancer (No. 9). Children's Colorado also ranked among the top 10 on the U.S. News & World Report Best Children's Hospital's 2016-17 Honor Roll.

The Magnet Nursing Services Recognition Program was established in 1993 to recognize healthcare organizations that provide the very best in nursing care and uphold the tradition within nursing that supports professional nursing practice. Independent studies of Magnet hospitals have shown that patients average a shorter length of stay and higher rate of satisfaction.
Children’s Colorado received our third Magnet recognition in 2015, and we are presently one of only eight Magnet recognized hospitals in the state. We were initially designated a Magnet hospital in 2005, and were recognized again in 2011. Hospitals must reapply for Magnet recognition every four years based on adherence to Magnet concepts and demonstrated improvements in patient care and quality.
