Children's Hospital Colorado

Custom Wardrobe for Preemies

CBS4 | May 20, 2013

Children's Colorado volunteer, Georgia Lallo, or "Grandma Georgia" as patient families like to call her, knows how stressful dressing a premature infant can be. Grandma Georgia has firsthand experience of life with a preemie, as her grandson was born many weeks early.

Day in and day out when Grandma came to visit her grandson in the hospital, she watched and helped dress her grandson, but it was not an easy task with a G-tube connected to his body.
During her grandson's stay at Children's Colorado, Grandma Georgia made him G-tube-friendly clothes that were easy to put on and take off. Grandma Georgia found that other NICU families were in need of the custom wardrobe as well and now volunteers her time creating handmade clothing for the babies with G-tubes in the NICU at Children's Colorado.
