Giving Back: Former NICU Family Creates Gift Bags for Parents of Preemies

After spending weeks at Memorial Hospital Central, Pediatric Expertise Provided by Children's Colorado with her son in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Jessica Gallagher wanted to do something special for other families going through a stressful time. She decided to give back.

For her son's first birthday, she asked for people to give donations instead of gifts. Gallagher used the donations to create gift bags for families currently in the NICU at Children's Colorado.

"It's just a wonderful gift to the families that we now have in our unit who are going through the same thing that Jessica went through last year," Karen Tolley, the clinical manager of the NICU, told KOAA in an interview.
