30th Annual Toy Run Brings Holiday Cheer to Children's Hospital Colorado

Children's Hospital Colorado | December 06, 2015

Thousands of bikers gathered to brighten patients' spirits

More than 2,000 devoted bikers traveled to Children's Hospital Colorado and delivered toys to patients for the 30th Annual Children's Hospital Colorado Toy Run. The tradition is a highlight of the holiday season for patients' who are not able to be home for the holidays.

Santa-on-fire-truck.jpgBikers gathered at the Aurora Sports Park and drove in waves of hundreds to the hospital with armfuls of toys to give. Children's Colorado patients, along with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, followed the succession of motorcycles on an antique fire truck borrowed from the Aurora Fire Department, and arrived waving to patients, families and Children's Colorado employees.

Once bikers arrived, they gathered in the hospital atrium to greet patients and families, enjoy hot chocolate and listen to holiday carols sung by members of the Boettcher Foundation.
