Our humble beginnings stretch back to 1897 when a group of medical staff – mostly volunteers – helped set up a seasonal tent hospital in a Denver park. Today, Children’s Hospital Colorado is nationally ranked among the top children’s hospitals in the nation, employs a team of world-renowned pediatric experts, has contributed abundantly to research breakthroughs and has a proven record of clinical success.
It is at this critical juncture, the crossroads of strength and possibility, that Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation announces Courage is…The Campaign to Transform Children’s Health, our most ambitious philanthropy effort to date.
The $400 million fundraising campaign is designed to draw on the organization’s unique strengths and trajectory of success to make transformative changes for children’s health.
Funds will be used to make life-changing investments into pediatric research, clinical care excellence and initiatives that promote healthier communities across the state.
"I've always felt honored to be connected to this great organization, but especially now, at this important moment in time," said Laura Barton, Campaign co-chair. “Drawing on our unique strengths, one can only imagine the boundless possibilities the future holds and the transformative changes that can be realized with the help of our community."
Barth and Maureen Whitman will join Laura as co-chairs of the Courage is…Campaign, along with longtime hospital supporters Cille and Ron Williams, who will offer their leadership and continued dedication as honorary chairs.
The Courage is…Campaign enters its public phase with more than $190 million in funds raised to date. The generosity of volunteers, board members of the hospital and Foundation, as well as loyal donors, community and corporate partners, has been paramount to successfully launching this fundraising initiative.
