Children’s Hospital Colorado psychologist Dr. Natalie Abramson shares her thoughts on Generation Z growing up online and replacing face-to-face interaction with technology and social media.
Dr. Abramson believes parents should have straightforward “tech talks” with kids and to know what they are doing, saying and learning online.
When deciding on how much online access a child should have, Dr. Abramson instructs to base it on the child's emotional and social security rather than age, and to encourage children to gain skills through social encounters instead of relying heavily on electronic interactions.
