Children’s Hospital Colorado is proud to announce a multi-year partnership with StartUp Health Colorado, which is organizing and supporting a global army of entrepreneurs to improve the health and wellness of billions of people worldwide.
Children’s Colorado is a founding partner in StartUp Health, which was also announced today and will create a digital health innovation hub on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Denver for health entrepreneurs, doctorpreneurs, investors and industry stakeholders and also leverage StartUp Health’s global platform to cross-pollinate health innovations with other regions around the world.
“As a leader in pioneering treatments that are shaping the future of pediatrics, we are excited to be the founding partner of StartUp Health Colorado. This will reinforce our commitment to being part of building one of the most important health innovation hubs in the country,” said Gil Peri, senior vice president and chief strategy officer at Children’s Colorado.“Our vision is to accelerate the pace of innovation by working collaboratively and to lead the way in supporting a generation of entrepreneurs and health practitioners to create meaningful solutions that benefit pediatric patients and their families.”
Helping launch StartUp Health Colorado marks the rapid progression of Children’s Colorado’s recently initiated Center for Innovation, which provides an opportunity for innovators to come together to develop groundbreaking ideas that will enrich and save lives through better technology and care.
“The Center for Innovation, and our partnership with StartUp Health Colorado, represents the realization of our visionary strategic plan to connect our amazing entrepreneurial faculty and staff to a world of outstanding innovators,” said Dr. Robin Deterding, medical director of Children’s Colorado’s Center for Innovation. “Through these efforts, I am convinced that we’ll develop unique, powerful and life-changing solutions that will catapult us forward in the quest to improve the health and well-being of children.”
StartUp Health Colorado will collaborate with Children’s Colorado to develop a custom innovation portfolio, and will connect the Center for Innovation to the global ecosystem of Health Transformers to build, validate and commercialize technologies focused on children’s health and wellness.
“This partnership is an incredible opportunity for Health Transformers focusing on children’s health to have one of the world’s leading pediatric networks collaborating in such a meaningful way,” said Dr. Howard Krein, chief medical officer of StartUp Health. “Together, we believe we can make 25 years of progress in 10 years by speeding up innovation cycles and supporting the entrepreneurs reinventing the future of health.”
StartUp Health Colorado will operate regionally and co-locate with CU Innovations, CU Anschutz’ Technology Commercialization Office, and will connect into StartUp Health's global infrastructure and operations.
