As of October 4, 2020, Children's Colorado’s Therapy Care location in Pueblo is no longer open for in-person visits and instead will continue to provide comprehensive therapy services through virtual care, also known as telehealth.

“Telehealth was one of many tools we implemented as part of our hospital’s response to COVID-19 across our entire system of care, and it’s proven effective in meeting the needs of kids and their families in Pueblo and Southern Colorado,” said Suzy Jaeger, senior vice president, chief patient experience and access officer at Children’s Colorado. “We remain dedicated to this community and are continuing to care for these children. Now, families have the option of virtual appointments with the Pueblo therapy care team they’re already familiar with, or in-person appointments at our Printers Park location in Colorado Springs.”

Speech, language, feeding and learning services for Pueblo

With the convenience of telehealth, we continue to provide a wide range of speech, language, feeding and learning therapy that families have come to expect for the past 20 years from our former Therapy Care location in Pueblo. The Pueblo speech therapy team is the same; your appointment will just look a little different.

Here are just a few of the benefits Pueblo families can expect from a virtual therapy visit:

  • Our experts can see your child in their home environment. Because children are more comfortable at home, they show us what they can do in their everyday surroundings. This helps us work with you and your child during regular routines and activities so that skills learned in therapy continue throughout the day.
  • Parents are more active players in your child’s therapy. Working together, we can create a care plan you’ll feel comfortable and confident maintaining at home and all the places your child goes.
  • Telehealth appointments are more convenient and easier to keep. Virtual appointments with your child’s Pueblo speech therapist or learning therapist can stay on track even with circumstances that could prevent an in-person visit. With telehealth, you’re less likely to reschedule for things like bad weather or a sick family member.
  • You have improved access to our speech-language pathology (SLP) and learning specialists (LRN). Because we have speech and learning therapists providing telehealth services at all Children’s Colorado locations, your child will get the same quality of care you’ve come to expect from our Pueblo therapists with more options to fit your family’s schedule.
