A new hospital coming soon!

We're proud to announce that we've officially broken ground on our new Children’s Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs, which is set to open late spring 2019. This six-level, 280,000 square-foot location will house the first pediatric-only operating rooms and emergency department in Colorado Springs. It’s designed with input from pediatric experts to provide the most advanced and compassionate pediatric care possible for our patients and their families.

The sole pediatric-only hospital in the region

Once completed, our new hospital will be the most comprehensive children’s hospital between Denver, Dallas, Salt Lake City and Kansas City. It will include the region’s only emergency department and operating rooms built exclusively for kids and served by pediatric experts who have dedicated their lives to treating kids and only kids.

The hospital will also include:

  • Pediatric Emergency Department: 33 exam rooms, 6 behavioral health rooms
  • Pediatric surgery: 8 operating rooms, 33 private recovery rooms, 5 extended stay rooms
  • Pediatric imaging: 5 imaging types (MRI, CT, plain film imaging, ultrasound and fluoroscopy)
  • Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders: 8 private infusion rooms, 4 infusion bays, 6 exams rooms
  • Sleep study: 3 sleep study rooms and dedicated space for EMU and EEG
  • Hospital beds for critical care: 103 beds (16 PICU beds, 50 NICU beds, 37 medical surgery beds)
