Research indicates that 15-20% of children have difficulty learning to read. Often dyslexia/specific learning disabilities in reading are made more complex by co-existing speech, language, hearing and other conditions which challenge otherwise capable learners. For example, between 40 and 75 percent of preschoolers with early language impairment develop reading difficulties later. This workshop will address the impact of co-existing conditions on reading success, as well as effective structured literacy intervention strategies for the various populations.
