Overview

Optimizing student health outcomes, improving school performance, boosting attendance, and promoting the overall well-being of school-aged children with medical complexities are essential student priorities in expanding access to comprehensive training for nurses and healthcare providers working in both urban and rural communities across Colorado. This initiative is designed to equip school and community-based nurses, including childcare health consultants, with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively support children with special healthcare needs.

This training is provided collaboratively between Children's Hospital Colorado and the Colorado Department of Education.

Target Audience

School Nurses and Childcare Health Consultants providing care to students in the school and childcare setting

Outcomes

At the session's end, participants will report increased knowledge related to the top nine health conditions seen in school settings and how to access additional resources related to these common issues/conditions.
