Concussion Treatment and Emotional Breakdowns

Childrens_Colorado_Patient_Cole_Barrett-150x150.jpgA recent article published by the Denver Post about Children’s Colorado patient, Cole Barrett, suggests that young athletes who suffer from a concussion could be at risk for emotional and social issues.

Last fall, 11-year-old Cole was playing in a game when he was struck by a hard lacrosse ball on the side of his helmet. Despite wearing his helmet, he suffered severe headaches and emotional breakdowns that hinted of a more serious concussion than his parents had originally expected.

Children’s Colorado doctors add a holistic perspective to concussion treatment

At Children’s Colorado, Cole was treated with a holistic perspective that focuses on family communication and a practical post concussion return-to-play schedule.
