The Just Keep Breathing Asthma Program

What is Just Keep Breathing?

This program is an extension of the pulmonary clinic designed to help patients and families learn how the child's environment influences their asthma. Community health workers, also known as health educators, will do home visits to assess, educate and help the family improve their child’s asthma.

How much does the program cost and where is it available?

The program is a FREE service currently available in the Denver metro area.

Is my child eligible for Just Keep Breathing?

Children who have seen an asthma specialist at Children’s Hospital Colorado and have had two Emergency Department visits or one hospitalization due to asthma in the past year are eligible.

What is included in the Just Keep Breathing program?

  • 3-5 home visits
  • Asthma education specific to each family
  • Home walk-through to look for triggers
  • Limited home remediation to remove triggers, including cleaning supplies such as a HEPA filter vacuum
  • Support from a community health worker, nurse, and social worker
